QUICK ANSWER

By Day 3 of the fair, the same four problems keep surfacing at our booth: "everything looks the same," "my samples don’t match production," "I need certified sustainable materials but no one gives me the paperwork," and "the MOQ is too high for my brand." Each is a design and development problem before it is a manufacturing one. Below, the buyer’s words, why it hurts, and exactly how our design & development team closes the gap — with the evidence sitting on our table this week. Booth 3.1B25-26, until November 4.

What We Are Hearing at the Booth This Week

Three days into the 140th Canton Fair, the booth traffic has a pattern. The buyers who stop are not browsing — they arrive with a brief, a failed supplier, or a gap in last season’s line. They describe the same handful of problems in different accents: French, German, British, Dutch, Nordic. We are a manufacturer with 20 years of ODM design and development behind us, so our answer is rarely "we can make that." It is "here is how our design team solves the problem you just described." This dispatch is the unedited version of those conversations.

None of the four gaps below is solved by a lower quote. Every one is solved earlier in the process — at the design and development stage, before a single bulk order is cut. That is the part most suppliers skip, and the part we put on the table.

Four Sourcing Gaps — and the Design & Development Answer to Each

Gap 1 — "Every jacket on the floor looks the same. I cannot make my brand stand out."

The cost: a buyer who cannot differentiate ends up competing on price against a hundred look-alikes. The booth next door is showing the same silhouette with a different label. No amount of margin survives that.

Our design & development answer: an in-house design studio, not a catalog. We track AW27/28 colour and pattern direction and the SS27 designer outerwear series, then turn that intelligence into original silhouettes and full tech packs built from your brand brief — not a reskin of our stock line. The 20 years is not tenure; it is a library of patterns, fits and constructions we can recombine for a label that looks like no one else on the floor.

On the table right now: the FW27 concept boards, and a side-by-side of "trend reference → our interpretation → your branded version" so you can see the path from idea to a jacket that is unmistakably yours.

Gap 2 — "My samples looked great, but production drifted. Quality is not consistent."

The cost: the hero sample wins the order; the inconsistent bulk loses the customer the next season. The gap between prototype and production is where most outerwear programs quietly fail.

Our design & development answer: vertically integrated development. The same line in Nanjing and Myanmar that makes your bulk also makes your prototype, so the spec sheet written at sampling is the spec sheet honoured in production. We run pre-production approval, wash and durability testing, and seam-taping QC at defined checkpoints, and we hand you the proto-to-bulk spec comparison so the numbers match.

On the table right now: a prototype next to its bulk-spec sheet, with the fill-weight, seam-tape and wash-test results called out — the same document our QC uses on the line.

Gap 3 — "I need recycled and certified materials, but suppliers cannot give me the paperwork."

The cost: for European retail, "we use recycled fabric" with no certificate is a compliance risk, not a feature. Buyers get stopped at customs, at the retailer’s audit, or by their own marketing team.

Our design & development answer: compliance designed in from the first sketch, not bolted on at shipping. We develop with GRS-certified recycled fills, RDS responsible down, and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 fabrics, against a BSCI / WRAP social-compliance baseline. Each material carries a certificate number and an issuing body, and we keep the test reports from SGS, Intertek or TUV in the same dossier as the design. (The verification checklist we published earlier this week explains exactly how to check those numbers — we simply keep ours within reach.)

On the table right now: the full material-and-cert dossier for the FW27 line, open at the GRS and OEKO-TEX entries, numbers visible.

Gap 4 — "The MOQ is too high. I am a growing brand and cannot commit to a huge run."

The cost: a great design dies because the factory only runs four-figure minimums. Emerging brands get locked out of the suppliers who could actually develop for them.

Our design & development answer: flexible ODM development with tiered MOQ. Our dual-plant capacity across China and Myanmar lets us balance load and support both established retailers and emerging labels — we co-develop the first capsule at a workable volume, prove the product, then scale the reorder. Development is the lever; capacity is what lets us pull it without strangling your cash flow.

On the table right now: two versions of the same style — the launch capsule we built for a first-time brand, and the scaled reorder that followed — so you can see the path from "can we?" to "we are."

What You Can See and Touch at Booth 3.1B25-26

If you only have twenty minutes between halls, spend them here. The FW27 design boards, the prototype-to-bulk spec comparison, the open certification dossier, and the launch-capsule-versus-reorder pair are all physically on the table through November 4. Bring a style you admire and we will sketch the development path on the spot.

How a JXD-SPY Development Program Runs

Three steps, from brief to bulk — the same path the four gaps above are solved through:

Step

What happens

You walk away with

1 · Brief & trend input

We bring AW27/28 + SS27 trend intelligence; you bring brand direction and target price

A concept board and a confirmed design direction

2 · Prototype & tech pack

Sample made on the same line as bulk, with spec sheet and test plan

A wearable prototype and a production-ready tech pack

3 · Production & QC

In-line checks, pre-shipment AQL, cert documents delivered with the goods

Bulk that matches the sample, with paperwork

Built for Buyers Like You

The four gaps are not theoretical. The French contemporary label fighting sameness, the German retail buyer who needed certified recycled fills with the documents to prove it, the UK brand watching its MOQ, and the Nordic outdoor buyer who had been burned by sample-to-bulk drift — they are the buyers standing at Booth 3.1B25-26 this week. Ask at the booth and we will walk you through the FW27 capsule we developed for a label in your region, without the numbers leaving the room.

FAQ

Do you offer custom outerwear design, or only catalog styles?Custom design is our core service. We run an in-house design studio that develops original silhouettes and full tech packs from your brand brief, informed by AW27/28 colour and pattern trends and the SS27 designer outerwear series. Catalog styles exist as a starting point, not the limit.

Can you work with a new brand on a low MOQ?

Yes. We run flexible, tiered ODM development and use our dual-plant capacity across China and Myanmar to balance load. We typically co-develop a first capsule at a workable volume to prove the product, then scale the reorder as your sales confirm.

How do you keep sample quality consistent with bulk production?

The same production line that makes your bulk also makes your prototype, so the spec sheet written at sampling is the one honoured in production. We apply pre-production approval, wash and durability testing, seam-taping QC at defined checkpoints, and give you the proto-to-bulk spec comparison so the numbers match.

Can you supply certified sustainable materials with the documentation?

Yes. We develop with GRS-certified recycled fills, RDS responsible down, and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 fabrics on a BSCI / WRAP compliance baseline. Every material carries a certificate number and issuing body, and we keep SGS, Intertek or TUV test reports in the same dossier as the design — verifiable, not claimed.

What should I bring to your booth to get the most from a design meeting?

Your brand direction, a target price range, any fabric or sustainability preferences, and rough volumes. With those, our design team can sketch the development path and show you the relevant FW27 boards and prototypes on the table at Booth 3.1B25-26.
